Websites for machine shops

Machine shop websites that bring in RFQs

The person finding your shop is usually an engineer or a buyer with a drawing in hand and a deadline, and they size you up in under a minute. They want your machine list, the tolerances you hold, the materials you cut, your certs and a place to send the file. I build exactly that, in their language, and skip the stock photo of a handshake.

What your site needs

Six things every machine shop site should do.

Purchasing agents, manufacturing engineers and product startups searching on a desktop at work, often by capability or certification, then sending the same RFQ to several shops.

  • Full equipment listBuyers check whether you have the 5-axis, the lathe with live tooling or the travel their part needs before they ever send an RFQ.
  • Tolerances and inspectionStating what you hold and what you check it with, CMM, surface finish, GD&T, tells an engineer in seconds whether you're a fit.
  • Certifications and quality systemISO 9001, AS9100, ITAR registration or a documented quality manual decide whether you make the approved supplier list at all.
  • RFQ form with drawing uploadEngineers want to drop a STEP or PDF with quantity and due date in one go, not trade emails to find out where to send it.
  • Industries servedSeparate pages for aerospace, medical, motorsports, food equipment or ag show a buyer you know their parts and their paperwork.
  • Materials and run sizesListing the metals and plastics you cut and whether you take prototypes, short runs or production keeps the wrong RFQs out.
The signature piece

Toolpath to Tolerance

  1. A stock block sits on a dark CAM-screen grid.
  2. A pocketing toolpath draws itself in cyan while an end mill rides along it.
  3. The pocket turns from raw stock to machined aluminum as the path finishes, then holes drill in with a small chip burst.
  4. Tolerance callouts draw in like a drawing sheet: leader lines, a diameter with +/- 0.005, a surface finish note and a GD&T frame, with the numbers settling into place.
  5. Desktop: scrolling drives the machining, so the part finishes as you scroll past, and the finished part can be turned with the mouse.
  6. Phone: plays once as a short clip ending on the finished part and a Send a drawing button.

Searches your customers type

Be the answer when they search.

  • CNC machine shop Charlotte NC
  • 5 axis machining near me
  • AS9100 machine shop North Carolina
  • prototype machining Mooresville
  • precision machining Gastonia NC
  • CNC turning services Rock Hill SC

Each one needs a page Google trusts, a map listing that matches, and answers an AI assistant can quote. I set up all three.

Questions

Machine Shops: common questions.

Is it safe to let customers upload drawings through the site?

Yes. Files go through an encrypted form straight to your inbox, not to a public folder. If you do ITAR or controlled work, I set the form to tell people not to upload controlled data and to call first.

Our work comes through reps and trade shows. Does a site matter?

They still look you up before the first RFQ, and a buyer adding a new supplier has to justify it to someone. A clear equipment list and cert page hands them what they need to put you on the list.

Can you write this without me spending hours explaining it?

One call and a walk around the floor, in person if you're close or on video if not. I write it the way engineers talk, and you fix anything I get wrong before it goes live.
